FROG THUMBPRINT COOKIES
A fun twist on the classic thumbprint cookie
- 116 grams unsalted butter, softened
- 68 grams granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 146 grams all purpose flour
- jam of your choice
- food coloring
Cream together the butter and sugar
Mix in the egg yolk, vanilla, and salt
Add in the flour and mix until a dough forms
Dye the dough green
Shape the frogs by taking a piece of dough and rolling it into a ball. Then take two smaller pieces of dough for the eyes. Flatten the dough with your hands or the bottom of a cup.
Press a heart shaped indent into the dough
Fill the indent with jam
Bake at 350F/177C for 12-14 minutes
Let cool then draw on frog faces with royal icing
